Date: Monday, 5 April | Time: 8:00 pm
Venue: Oyster Manor Hotel, Clarinbridge
Demonstration by Richard Haslam, FSFNDSF
Tickets sell at €10. Available at the door on the night.
All proceeds will help to Fund our Pilgrimage to Lourdes this Easter, and, Holidays at Kilcuan for Young People with Special Needs. All helpers pay their own fare and accommodation for Lourdes Pilgrimage and Kilcuan Holidays.

Kilcuan was built in 1997 and opened in 1998. It was built by the Irish Pilgrimage Trust as a holiday/respite home for people with special needs. The Irish Pilgrimage Trust is a totally voluntary organisation, funding for the house came from fundraising throughout the country. Fees for the House are kept to a minimum so fundraising needs to be done on an ongoing basis. The Pilgrimage Trust also takes 600 children with special needs on holiday to Lourdes every Easter. The Trust pays for the children, but carers pay their own way. An average of 1,000 people come to Kilcuan each year from all over Ireland, England, and, this year, one group from the USA.

Palm Sunday Exposition

Bishop McLoughlin has requested exposition of the Blessed Sacrament in all parish churches on Palm Sunday. This year, the focus of prayer will be on Family Life and Vocations. The Exposition will begin in Clarinbridge after Mass on Palm Sunday, at 12:30 pm, and continue until 6:00 pm. Everyone is welcome.

Spy Wednesday

The Bishop and priests of the diocese have an afternoon of prayer at Esker. Parishioners are asked to pray for their priests and bishop on that day.

Holy Thursday

In Galway Cathedral, the Bishop blesses the oils used in the Sacraments during the year, in the parishes. [Baptism, Confirmation, Sacrament of the Sick]. The Sacrament of the Sick will be available during this "Chrism Mass" to those who need it [11:00 am]. The Bishop encourages children who are being confirmed this year to come to this Mass, also, if possible.

Trócaire

As in former years, the usual Sunday collection will be given in toto to Trócaire. Last year, it came to in excess of €2,000. Could we aim at €3,000? I suggest that those who can afford it might consider throwing in the price of a good dinner [€10]. The fact that you will never meet those who benefit from it makes your gift all the more meritorious before God.
