Questionnaure Distribution — volunteers needed

Under the new County Development Plan, Clarinbridge has been identified as a growth settlement centre [albeit, a small one]. It is vital that Clarinbridge develops in an organised and structured way, with the necessary infrastructure and amenities provided in tandem. Galway County Council will shortly commence work on the first ever development plan for Clarinbridge [completion expected by February, 2005]. The process will start by advertising and inviting pre-plan submissions from the public and other bodies. To assist in this process, CCDA has devised a questionnaire to elicit people's responses and this will be distributed to all households in the parish over the next two weeks.

CCDA is looking for volunteers to assist them in the distribution of the questionnaires, and those who would like to help are invited to pick up the relevant information at the Oyster Manor Hotel on Wednesday, 5 May, at 8:00 pm. It is envisaged that a couple of hours' work by a number of people will facilitate distribution to every house in the parish.

We propose to hold a public meeting following completion of the survey to facilitate further input from the community. Following the meeting, the results of the questionnaire and meeting will be collated and a report forwarded to Galway County Council. This report, which we expect will have a major influence on the Draft Plan, will be available from the CCDA.
