Cemetery Mass

Mass in Clarinbridge cemetery next Friday, 18 June, at 8:00 pm [weather permitting]. Those who have relatives interred in the cemetery are asked to tidy their graves. It is heartening to see people's response to a recent appeal NOT to leave litter in the cemetery and NOT to throw it over the wall! Please continue to take away all materials which one would class as litter/rubbish. Thank you.

Congratulations

Congratulations to Scoil Mhuire, Mr Holian and his young footballers on winning the schools' final on Thursday evening last, in Annaghdown. They defeated Boleybeg NS [Barna], in the final. Well done to all involved.

One day Euro Soccer Blitz

Taking place on Sunday, 20 June, at Colga pitch. Teams will be picked on the day, and leagues will be run for children, aged 7–9 years, and 10–13 years. Free barbeque, treats and light refreshments. Commencing at noon and concluding at 5:00 pm. It promises to be a great day; for all the family.

Galway and District, seven-a-side

Colga participated in both the Under-10 and Under-11 categories at Mervue recently, and both squads can be very proud of their performances. The Under-10s flew through the qualifying stages, unbeaten, and were, eventually, pipped by the narrowest of margins at the knockout stage by Foyle Hibs, who went on to win the competition. The Under-11s also did well, in spite of missing some of their key players on both days, winning four of their seven matches. Well done to all concerned, and hopefully they'll go one better next year, and bring home the silverware!
