Sudanese Crisis

You will be aware from reports in the media of the appalling humanitarian crisis that has developed in Darfur, in Western Sudan. Trócaire is currently working as part of an international team from the Caritas Network, responding to the emergency. People coming to Mass here will have an opportunity to contribute towards the alleviation of the suffering in Darfur, by putting something in baskets left at the end of the church after Masses next weekend, 21/22 August, or, you may put your contribution in an envelope, marked 'Sudan', and put it in the porch safe, or, in the offertory basket. Many thanks on behalf of those unfortunate people.

Church-"Gate" Collection

The annual IHCPT "gate" collection will be held next Sunday, after Mass. This collection assists in bringing over 500 children with special needs to Lourdes each Easter.

Parish Outing

The proposed parish outing for Sunday, 22 August, has been cancelled.

A public information meeting is being held by the CCDA on Tuesday, 17 August, at 8:00 pm, in the Oyster Manor Hotel, to discuss the need for a community crèche in the area.
