Motown and Oysters ... the Drifters come to Clarinbridge!

The classic motown sounds of the Original American Drifters will be wooing the crowds at this year's "Welcome to the Festival" Big Band Night, in the Festival marquee, on the opening night of the Clarinbridge Oyster Festival, on Friday, 3 September. There could hardly be a better way to get the Festival weekend rolling than with the smooth rhythms of a world-renowned band, who pioneered a genre of music, that linked '50s rhythm and blues, with '60s soul music. Tickets are €16, and are still available from Sherry's pub, Clarinbridge, telephone: [091]–796463, or 087–2680821. Proceeds from the dance will help support Colga Football Club. All Colga tickets-sellers are required to attend a meeting in Sherry's pub on Monday, 30 August, at 9:00 pm.
