Be a Friend The Brothers of Charity have provided services to people with learning disabilities in Kilcornan for over fifty years. Many of us are familiar with Kilcornan through using the swimming pool, or enjoying the scenic walks on the grounds, but, perhaps, we could do more, as a community, to get to know and involve the residents of Kilcornan in the social life of the Parish. Many of the residents of Kilcornan would like to develop friendships with local people, and integrate better into the life of the community. A group of volunteers has been formed, who plan to partake in social events and outings with the men and women in Kilcornan. The emphasis is on fun and developing friendships. An information meeting on volunteer work will be held in the Oyster Manor Hotel, on Tuesday, 14 September, at 8:00 pm. For further information, contact Rory Douglas, or Mary Coen, at 796106, or, Joe Murphy, at 0863858536. |
