Colga FC News

  • Under-12 record win in their opening game: On a blustery morning on Saturday, 11 September, the Colga Under-12s had to battle against the elements and a very determined Cregmore, to hold on to win by the narrowest of margins in a seven-goal thriller. Leading 2-1 at half-time, the Colga boys had to dig deep in the second half, playing into the jaws of a gale, and, eventually emerged as deserving winners, 4-3. The Junior team also recorded a hard-fought 1-0 win over Gort.
  • Thank you to all who volunteered to help with the organising and running of the 'American Drifters' dance, in the Oyster Festival marquee. It proved to be a terrific night, and thanks to all who attended.
  • Training of Coaches, or those interested in coaching, will take place on Wednesday evenings, 8:00-9:00 pm, at the astro-turf pitch, in Oranmore. The FAI Regional Development Officer, Johnny Morris-Burke, will be in attendance, and training will be given on drills, ball skills, and tactical development. This is open to anyone out there who would like to learn more, and, maybe, get involved with one of the teams.

All the young supporters are asked to put on their 'Murray # Spelman' jerseys, and to get out there, and support their team. Let's make sure we beat Larkin's the third time around. Good luck to Aidan, Liam, Derek, PJ, and Peter, and to all the lads in the replay.
