"Slave Auction"

Killeeneen NS is holding a "slave auction" at the Clarinbridge Court Hotel, on Saturday next, 6 November. The auction is in aid of the school building fund, which sets out to help complete a new classroom. This will be an action-packed night out, featuring an auction for many useful services for local businesses. Items for the auction include landscaping, a raft foundation, various building-trade services, car servicing, financial services, computer training/services, personal beauty, fitness training, home dining/party, child minding, interior design, etc. Entry fee of €7.50. Doors open at 8:00 pm. Auction will start promptly at 9:00 pm, as there are almost thirty items on auction. The auction is proceeded by a disco.

Two Novenas of Masses will be offered for those whose names are on the "November Lists", handed in by relatives. You are invited to one of those Masses [2-10 November, inclusive], if possible.

Set Dancing Classes

Set dancing classes for beginners commence this Thursday, 4 November, at 8:00 pm, in the Oyster Manor Hotel. The course lasts six weeks, and costs €30. Further information is available from Maria, at 087–6331045. A partner is not required. Both ladies and gents are welcome.

In Brief ...

  • Autumn Offerings: A sincere thanks to all who returned the envelopes. Thank you, also, to [a] those who increased their contribution, [b] those from outside the Parish, who have made a contribution, [c] new parishioners, who sent in an envelope. Many thanks to you all.
  • First Friday: The priest will bring the Sacraments to the usual people on that morning.
  • Readers and Ministers of the Eucharist: Anyone interested in these special ministries are asked to give their names and telephone numbers to Fr. Dermody [or the Parish Office] as soon as possible, as we hope to initiate training for same, shortly.

Clarinbridge Community Development Association

CCDA held their AGM last Thursday night in the Oyster Manor Hotel. There was a good attendance, which included Cllrs. Mary Hoade and Fidelma Healy-Eames, together with Ann Mallaghan of Galway County Council. New members were elected to the Board, and CCDA invited members of the community to become involved in the organisation.

Copies of the current CCDA newsletter are available in both 'Bridge Stores' and Kelly's shop. This newsletter is informative in all aspects of CCDA's current projects. A full report of the new elected members and contact numbers will be available with next weekend's Parish Newsletter. CCDA wishes to take this opportunity to thank everyone who attended and contributed to the meeting.

ISPCC Parenting Conference

 Attention all parents! 

The ISPCC is holding an information evening regarding the following topics, which affect children today: drugs and alcohol, Internet safety, bullying, and improving parent/child relationships. You are welcome to come along to the Menlo Park Hotel, Terryland, on Thursday, 18 November, from 7:00 to 8:30 pm. Admission is free. Refreshments provided.
