Aiveen Anderson Two parishes, many, many friends especially in music circles, but, most especially, a young family, her husband, and mother are in deep mourning at the sudden death of Aiveen. Aiveen was organist and choir conductor in two parishes for many years Ballindereen, where she lived, and, Clarinbridge. She was also well known through her work as entertainer [harpist and vocalist] in Bunratty and Dún Guaire Castles. Thousands would have experienced her beautiful liturgies on joyful days [weddings] and sad days [funerals]. One never had to worry with Aiveen at the helm the music would be appropriate for the occasion, and in good taste. She was a lovely lady, who, to quote Canon McInerney in his funeral homily, "gave herself to her family, to the community, and to God". We offer our deepest sympathy to her bereaved family, and assure them of our prayers in their difficult days. |
Did you know? That, as well as the two churches in use in the present day Church of Saint Colman, Roveagh, built in 1820, and reconstructed by Christopher Redington in 1873, and the Church of the Annunciation, Clarinbridge, built in 1938 there are six other buildings some in ruins, others now converted for a different function, which were once churches in this parish:
