Zambia Fund On Wednesday, 5 January, Alan Kerins will leave for Zambia, where he will voluntarily work as a physiotherapist in a Cheshire home, in a place called Monsu. At the moment, Alan is fundraising for basic medical supplies, equipment, and any other items of need in this poverty-stricken area. Clarinbridge Tidy Towns Committee Representatives of the Clarinbridge Tidy Towns Committee Mary Keane, Bridie Donoghue, and Clare Griffin were delighted to attend the County award-ceremony, which was held at the Claregalway Hotel on Wednesday, 1 December. Clarinbridge was awarded in the B-category section, which is based on population size. The village was highly commended for the nicely-maintained church grounds, village green, as well as the Maree road. |
Clarinbridge Choral Society Rediscover the magic of the season by joining the Clarinbridge Choral Group in its inaugural performance, on Tuesday, 21 December, in Clarinbridge Church, at 7:30 pm. Special guests for the evening are harpist, Kathleen Loughnane [Dordán], accompanied by Alex Finn [De Dannan], Jacqueline McCarthy and Tommy Keane, Marion McCarthy and Johnny Giles in a programme of O'Carolan airs and traditional music, with seasonal readings by John Quinn [RTÉ]. Afterwards, in Paddy Burke's, organic, mulled wine, home-made mince pies, and refreshments will be served. The recital is hosted by the Clarinbridge Community Development Association, and promises to be a sell-out. Early booking is advised.
