Foróige Youth Club News Foróige is running successfully in the parish. However, more support is needed in order for the club to continue. At present, we are trying to recruit new volunteers to assist in the running of the club. If you are willing to get involved, please leave your details into Kilcornan hall on Friday night, between 8:30 and 10:00 pm. Thank you. |
Scoil Mhuire, Clarinbridge We are currently accepting names for enrolment to Junior Infants, and, indeed, all other classes for September 2005. Trócaire Fast Boxes These are now available on the stand at the back of Clarinbridge church [and in the porch] in both churches. Please take one home with you. If children wish to have their own box, you may take an extra one. You will notice, when you open the package, that there is also an envelope this year. Could we gently encourage parishioners to use this envelope at the end of Lent by changing the coin into notes and placing them in the envelope. It would be much appreciated. Also, this year, Trócaire has sent to each parish a Lenten cloth, which has been used in Catholic churches in Germany. This Lenten cloth will be displayed in both churches from Ash Wednesday, together with an explanation of the message depicted on the cloth. Please read the little leaflet in each pack. The theme this year is "help make poverty history", with a special focus on Ethiopia. |
"Suaimhneas" Many and sincere thanks to those who have sent in contributions to pay off the debt. It is very disappointing, however, that of the 590 envelopes sent out, only 190 have been returned, which means 400 households [so far] have not made any contribution. People tell me January is an expensive month Christmas, back to school, etc. Indeed, I'm sure a goodly number will be returned this weekend. So, if you are reading this and have forgotten, please drop in €20 as soon as you can. It is not fair to ask the same generous people to always carry the burden. Thanks to everyone who sent back an envelope, whether is was €20 or €1,000.
Thanking you in anticipation. |
