Financial Update Thank you very much, everyone who support Trócaire, amounting to €7,122 a substantial increase on 2004. Your goodness will be much appreciated by the needy people of Ethiopia. On their behalf, míle buíochas. Thank you, too, for your supported of the building fund, "Suaimhneas", and your support for the parochial and diocesan clergy. It is really disappointing, however, that four months after distributing 590 envelopes, 320 have not made any response ["Suaimhneas"], and 310 have no interest in the welfare of diocesan priests [Easter Offerings]. Which means that well over 60% have not made any contribution! I find these statistics very disturbing, depressing. E. Dermody. |

CCDA: Local Road-Safety and Speed-Sign Concerns A meeting will take place on Monday, 18 April, between Galway County Council [including our local representatives] and the Clarinbridge Community Development Association [traffic sub-committee]. CCDA's objective is to highlight local concerns regarding road-safety in the area, and to address long-standing as well as new concerns. The issue of road-safety has been particularly highlighted following the erection of the new speed signs many, of which, local residents feel run counter to the safety of road users, e.g. new speed-signs of 80km/h erected directly behind signs asking people to slow down, 'children-at-play' signs, etc. The CCDA wishes to highlight as many issues as possible, and would appreciate written correspondence and any appropriate details of concern by Friday, 15 April, at the latest, to the Parish Office, or, by email, to: ccdaclarinbridge@eircom.net. These submissions will be incorporated into our presentation for Galway County Council. A report of our meeting will be issued at our earliest convenience. Many thanks for your co-operation.
