Open Day, 2005

The annual open day at Galway Lifeboat Station is being held this coming Sunday, 22 May, at the boathouse, located at the docks in Galway.

The open day, which is from 2:00 to 5:00 pm, will give the public an opportunity to view the lifeboat, equipment, and to meet with the volunteer crew.

There will be competitions, face-painting and entertainment for children. Simulated launches of the lifeboat will take place at 2:30 pm, 3:30 pm, and 4:30 pm.

Since first going on service in 1996, the Galway Lifeboat Station has launched in excess of 210 times, and saved over 60 lives on Galway Bay.

Hope to see you there for a fun day out. All are welcome, especially children.
