Cemetery Mass

Mass will be celebrated in Clarinbridge cemetery [weather permitting] on Friday, 24 June, at 8:00 pm. People are asked to make a special effort to tidy up the graves of their loved ones. Anyone not in a position to do so can contact any Committee Member.

Voluntary Services Abroad

A very sincere thanks to all who contributed towards the recent 'Voluntary Services Abroad' collection, as well as those who attended the coffee morning. In total, over €4,000 was collected.

First Holy Communion, Clarinbridge

Quest Brain-Injury Services

Quest Brain-Injury Services provide training and support for individuals who have sustained an injury. Acquired brain-injury can result from:

  • traumatic injury, e.g. a traffic or workplace accident, such as a fall, an assault, or a sports injury
  • damage to the brain tissue following a stroke [through haemorrhage or aneurysm], brain surgery, or a brain tumour
  • a viral infection, e.g. encephalitis
  • lack of oxygen to the brain, e.g. as a result of a heart attack.

Are you interested in joining the newly-formed Clarinbridge ladies' adult football team? Training takes place on Tuesdays, at the pitch, at 7:30 pm. Bring your gear!

Green Flag for Killeeneen NS

Killeeneen National School has been awarded the Green Flag by An Taisce at a ceremony in Tailor's Hill, Dublin, recently.

To gain the Green Flag status is a great honour for any school, and, Killeeneen NS is very proud of its record for environmental awareness.

The Green Flag will be raised outside the school for the first time on Thursday, 9 June, at 1:00 pm. All of the community, local representatives, and friends of the school to attend.

An afternoon of celebration and entertainment is planned, with, of course, some refreshments! Do come along, and join in the celebrations. Everyone is welcome.

* Connacht GAA Summer Camps

Camp will be set up on Clarinbridge grounds from Monday, 18th to Friday, 22nd July.

Fees – which can be paid on the morning of camp starting – are as follows:

  • single participant: €50
  • family of two: €90
  • family of three: €120

* Juvenile Football

The Club is delighted to announce that it will be fielding juvenile football teams this year. We want to be able to cater for girls and boys. However, we need ladies to help out in order for this to be possible. Please get in contact with us if you are willing to give a hand – contact 086-8515015, or call to the pitch at training.

For now, the coaching schedule is as follows:

  • girls and boys, ages 6-10: Wednesdays, 6:30 pm, starting 8 June
  • girls, 11-12 [U-12]: Wednesdays, 6:30 pm, starting 8 June
  • boys, 11-12 [U-12]: to be announced, when training schedule eases.

All players will have to register. However, there will be no additional charge for existing registered hurlers or camogie players. New members are most welcome.

Mothers and Grandmothers ...

... Are you concerned about your children? If so, please come to a meeting at St. Mary's College, St. Mary's Road, Galway, on Friday evening, 10 June, from 8:00 to 10:00 pm, or, on Saturday morning, 11 June, from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm.

The meeting will start with Mass, and will be followed by Mothers' Prayers. Many prayers have been answered through this movement of prayer.

Veronica, one of the founders of "Mothers' Prayers", will give a talk and answer any questions.
