The Apostolic Work Society [Clarinbridge Branch] Most parishes in the Diocese of Galway have an active branch of AWS. Their focus is on support for missionaries in the most remote, most deprived places in the world. They make vestments, altar linen, and, sometimes, children's clothing. They collect funds for, and purchase, Mass kits, and other church requisites. They also provide contributions towards educating students for the priesthood, the training of Catechists, the sheltering and feeding of homeless children ... in fact, anything in the development of a deprived community. You can help, by making a generous contribution to the local branch of AWS [Clarinbridge/Roveagh] in the second collection next weekend. Thank you. |

Marriage Preparation In order that there be adequate time to prepare properly for the sacrament of marriage, it is required that couples give a minimum of three months' notice to one of the priests of their parish. Since 1 August, 1996, a marriage will not be valid in civil law unless three months' notification has been given to the Registrar of Marriages. |
