Calling all bakers, 'cakers', and jam tart-makers: your tasty contributions are needed for the 1st and 2nd October, to provide the after-Mass refreshments in "Suaimhneas".

Cakes, scones, buns, tarts, and any delectable home-produce can be dropped off to Julianne, at the Oyster Manor Hotel, before Saturday, 1st October.

Monday Morning Club

The Monday Morning Club resumes on Monday, 12 September, in the new venue of "Suaimhneas", from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm.

New and current members are always welcome.

Vocations

The word comes from the Latin meaning, 'call'.

In a spiritual sense, it signifies that a person feels 'called' by God to a special way of life, e.g. religious life, priesthood. Sometimes, the 'call' is not heeded, and life goes on. Sometimes, it becomes irresistible, and then, a person takes a new turn in life's journey.

As a community, we congratulate Ms Marie Linnane, Stradbally North, on her response to God's call, as she prepares to join the Poor Clare Community in the appropriately-named, "Nuns' Island", in Galway City.

Marie's neighbours and friends have arranged a special Mass on Tuesday evening, next, at 8:00 pm, in Clarinbridge church. Everyone is invited, and we hope many will be able to come – to wish her well and to ask God's blessing on her future. There will be refreshments afterwards in "Suaimhneas", beside the Parish Office.
