Vocations The word comes from the Latin meaning, 'call'. In a spiritual sense, it signifies that a person feels 'called' by God to a special way of life, e.g. religious life, priesthood. Sometimes, the 'call' is not heeded, and life goes on. Sometimes, it becomes irresistible, and then, a person takes a new turn in life's journey. As a community, we congratulate Ms Marie Linnane, Stradbally North, on her response to God's call, as she prepares to join the Poor Clare Community in the appropriately-named, "Nuns' Island", in Galway City. Marie's neighbours and friends have arranged a special Mass on Tuesday evening, next, at 8:00 pm, in Clarinbridge church. Everyone is invited, and we hope many will be able to come to wish her well and to ask God's blessing on her future. There will be refreshments afterwards in "Suaimhneas", beside the Parish Office. |

"Suaimhneas" Although the debt is going steadily down, it is no thanks to 279 households, who have yet to make a move. Can there be that many impoverished people in such magnificent homes? |
